April 7th 2026:
This week, the MBO College Almere donated a fully equipped technology room to Malawi, Africa. Equipment and learning materials that make way for innovation in Almere are given a second life there and are used for practice-oriented technical education for young people. With this donation, MBO College makes a tangible and sustainable contribution to strengthening craftsmanship and technical skills among young people in Malawi.
Mayor Hein van der Loo of the Municipality of Almere was present during the handover moment, in the presence of students, colleagues and cooperation partners, where the power of cooperation was central.
The initiative was created in collaboration with World Projects, and with the support of L.I.S. Logistics, who make the logistics and transport possible. They ensure that the material is carefully shipped and is actually put to good use in education in Malawi.
We are proud of this joint effort and of everyone who has contributed to it. A good example of how education can have an impact not only locally, but also internationally.

October 2025: Appreciation Message Matunhka Centre, Malawi
As instructors at Matunkha Vocational Training Centre, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our donor for the generous provision of training materials which have made a significant impact in our teaching and learners’ experience.
The Electromagnetism master boards, auto-electrical circuit boards, and vehicle engines (just to mention a few) have made practical sessions more engaging, inspiring our trainees, and helping us instructors deliver more hands-on, industry-relevant training. Our students find these materials interesting and easy to use. As a result, our trainees are gaining stronger skills and greater confidence as they prepare for the world of work.
We are also delighted to share that the 2024 Level One results recorded a 100% pass rate, with two students achieving distinctions — a remarkable milestone that clearly demonstrates the positive impact of these training resources. Furthermore, 11 of our students have successfully progressed to other technical colleges for Level 3 training, since our centre is currently not offering Level 3. This achievement reflects the quality of training and motivation inspired by your generous support.
Looking ahead, our future plan is to expand our programs to include Level 3 training in both trades, ensuring continuity and growth for our learners. With this valued partnership, we are hopeful that more training materials will be sourced to support the expansion and enhance the quality of our practical training even further.
We are truly grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to empowering technical education. Your contribution is not only transforming individual futures but also supporting the realization of the Malawi 2063 Vision through skills development.
Thank you once again for walking this journey with us!

We are happy that the Malawi Government is strongly supporting our work expressing it in support together with their Embassy.
July 2025: Electude has joined World Projects in supporting education in Malawi! Last week, we were happy to welcome Ruud Rouvoet, Board Member of the World Projects Foundation, to our headquarters in Nuenen, Netherlands.
Ruud received six Electude Connect training aids that will soon be on their way to vocational schools in Malawi, helping students in underprivileged areas gain essential hands-on skills.
“With practical equipment, the learning process is faster. With them, students learn in half a year what usually takes a whole year”, said Ruud.
Electude is happy to see our Connect training aids gaining a second life and reaching students who need them.

Management Electude: At Electude, we believe that good education is the key to a better future — for everyone. That is why we are proud of our new partnership with the World Projects www.worldprojects.nl Foundation, an organization dedicated to education and development in emerging countries, especially in Africa. As part of this collaboration, various educational institutions will have access to Electude Classroom and we will make a number of our Connect learning resources available. In doing so, we not only support the technical development of students, but also contribute to sustainable progress in regions where it is desperately needed. This collaboration fits in seamlessly with our previous involvement with Don Bosco schools in Africa. It is the next step in our mission to contribute to better and more accessible technical education worldwide — also for young people who have fewer opportunities.
April 2025: Collaboration Seldenthuis Education and World Projects Foundation
Last week, Tom Seldenthuis (Seldenthuis Education) and Ruud Rouvoet (World Projects Foundation) joined forces.
Together they are committed to giving old, depreciated educational learning materials a new life at Vocational Training Centers in Malawi!
Seldenthuis Education has been supplying innovative educational models and training panels to (V)MBO for more than 10 years. Outdated learning materials are often thrown away or disposed of in scrap metal.
World Projects refurbishes these materials and ensures that they reach technical schools in Malawi, where they can train and inspire young people for years to come.
The local teachers are also guided in the use of these materials in their lessons, in close cooperation with the Malawian government (TEVETA).
As a first donation, Tom delivers, among other things: 4 cutaway Bosch throttle regulators (Peugeot/Volkswagen) 3 cutaway models Bosch HDI fuel compressors (Peugeot/Citroën) 1 Capelec CAP4100 OBD tester 2 Seldenthuis V–4 practical setups Electrical Engineering 1 Epson EB–470 projector
World Project thanks Tom for his donation and will ensure that these learning materials are placed at a technical school in Malawi.
April 2025: World Projects is starting a new Container Project to provide Vocational Training Centers in Northern Malawi with training materials. These materials are written off and redundant materials from schools in the Netherlands. They are very much demanded in Malawi and are not available in Malawi or are too expensive to buy. World Projects hopes to contribute to the reuse of these materials and the improvement of Vocational Education in Malawi.
Materials are intended for, among others, the Mzuzu Technical College, the Phwezi Technical College and the Livingstonia Technical College. World Projects visited these Colleges in February 2025.
This new Container Project involves close cooperation with the Malawian government organization for vocational education TEVETA.
See the cooperation letter below.
Transport company LIS Logistics in Almere will store the materials until the Container can be loaded and shipped. The first donations for the schools have already been received:
– An Ultimaker 3D printer from HBO Windesheim in Almere;
– 11 training cabinets for electrical connections from Brink Techniek in Hattem;
– 30 filled toolboxes from ROC Aventus in Apeldoorn.
March 2025: We are very proud to announce the collaboration between the TEVETA (the Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority) of Malawi and World Projects.
Thank you Elwin Chiwembu Sichiola, Executive Director of the TEVETA for your confidence and Board Member Ruud Rouvoet of World Projects for the hard work !
February 2025: World Projects visited the Vocational Training Centers in Malawi to advise the 3 centers that received materials from the Container Project, on the use of the educational materials and in particular the training panels. At the Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in Lilongwe, the Toyota training panels are in full use. The training panels are a great asset for teachers and students. The quality of the instruction has increased enormously and students learn faster. Training courses have been shortened by six months. The new welding equipment is also used daily.
At the Sonda Center in Mzuzu, a new computer room has been set up with the redundant computers from the Montessori Lyceum Amsterdam. It is great to see that they now provide training in Libre Office and Autocad here.
At the Matunkha VTC in Rumphi, an entire school for Automotive Technology has been set up with the equipment and tools from the Container Project. The school started on January 6th 2025 with 13 students. Once certification is complete (expected in April 2025), 20 students can be trained at level 1 and then progress to level 2.
World Projects is planning to visit and advise these 3 Vocational Training Centers the next few years.
October 2024: Letter of Appreciation of the One Heart Foundation Malawi. Students in Monkey Bay are now able to specialize in welding with the gift of World Projects. Through the Vocational Training Centre young adults who did not get a change otherwise are now given the change to learn and trade.
February 2024: Letters of appreciation from the institutes we support in Malawi:
The Don Bosco Youth Technical Insitute in Lilongwe, the Sonda Technical and Vocational Institute in Mzuzu and the Matunkha Vocational Training Center in Rumphi.
In January 2024, at the request of 3 Vocational Training Centers (VTC’s) in Malawi, World Projects approached several Technical schools in the Netherlands with the request to make redundant and written-off educational training materials, computers and tools available for vocational education in Malawi. In particular, technical training panels that are used in the training courses for automotive technicians and electrical engineers are very welcome in Malawi. This is because they are not for sale in Malawi and their educational value is very high. The following schools have made materials available: ROC Midden Nederland, ROC Aventus, Montessori Lyceum Oostpoort, VMBO Het Element, ROC Flevoland, Deltion College and HBO Windesheim. The materials provided included 25 HP Prodesk 400 MT desktop computers, 43 Acer Chromebooks, 2 touchscreens, a 3D printer, 3 Toyota training panels of petrol car engines, 1 Peugeot training panel of a diesel engine, 2 (dis-)assembly motors on a stand, a band saw, 3 smidweld welding machines, a pillar drill, 2 FLEC switch training panels with accessoires, 3 power supplies, 1 pillar grinder, 5 training panels for electrical components of cars, several open work models of engine blocks, a compressor with pneumatic tools and a lot of garage equipment with measuring and (dis-)assembly tools. LIS Logistics made storage space available in Almere for all these materials. The materials have also been prepared for transport there.
In November 2023, these materials were shipped in a 40 ft sea container to Malawi where they arrived in February 2024. The customs clearance and the exemption from import duties were arranged by the Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in Lilongwe.
At the official handover at the end of February 2024, in addition to the 3 technical schools for which the educational material was intended, the Malawian government institution TEVETA (Technical Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority) also was present.
The material is divided between the following VTCs: the Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in Lilongwe, the Sonda Center in Mzuzu and the Matunkha Center in Rumphi.
The Matunkha Center started the training for car mechanics in January 2025 and received the total technical inventory for this.
October 2023: Project Matunkha, Rumphi, Malawi. World Projects visited for meetings on behalf of Delta World Schools and to see how the Vocational Training Centre accommodation is developing. A large container holding Automotive materials will be shipped soon from the Netherlands so when the classrooms are ready the most modern automotive training can be given.
May 2023: The Matunkha Vocational Centre in Rumphi in the North of Malawi is, as is the Don Bosco Insitute in Lilongwe, for many years, supported by us.
This October we will visit them both and agree upon our support together with the Delta Wereldscholen for the next years.
Our board member and education expert Ruud Rouvoet visited them nearly every year in the past as our representative and also took care of their official Malawian Vocational Education certification.
April 2023: On track with collecting Educational demo’s and materials for the Matunkha Vocational Training Center in the North of Malawi.
